Caitlin Guziak-Hoerr, LPC-A, LCDC

Hello and Welcome!
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-Associate) and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) specializing in work with adolescents, adoptive families, and individuals navigating substance use and co-occurring emotional and behavioral challenges.
My work focuses on clients and families who are dealing with complexity—whether that’s escalating behavioral concerns, emotional dysregulation, or substance use that is beginning to impact functioning at home, school, or in relationships. I have particular experience supporting adoptive families, where layered developmental and attachment dynamics require a thoughtful, tailored approach.
In addition to my clinical work, I have developed mental health programming focused on foundational emotional and behavioral skills, and I have piloted substance use and recovery programming at a systems level. This experience informs my clinical lens, allowing me to understand not only the individual, but also the broader systems and structures that influence behavior, access to care, and long-term outcomes.
I take a collaborative but direct stance in therapy. I work to quickly understand patterns, identify what is and is not working, and help clients build practical, sustainable tools for change. My approach integrates evidence-based modalities including EMDR, ACT, motivational interviewing, and interactive journaling, allowing me to adapt treatment to each client’s needs while maintaining a clear focus on progress.
When working with adolescents, I prioritize building genuine rapport while also maintaining structure and accountability—helping them engage in the process and take meaningful steps toward change. I also work closely with parents and caregivers to support consistency, communication, and follow-through outside of sessions.
I aim to create a space that is both nonjudgmental and results-oriented, where clients and families feel understood while also being supported to make measurable, lasting change.
